SHAWNEE MISSION WEST BLACK STUDENT UNION

IDENTITY. EXCELLENCE. PRIDE.

Purpose

Black Student Union (BSU) is an inclusive student organization made up of Black students, student allies, and adult allies. Our purpose is to celebrate Black culture and history, promote academic success, cultivate leadership skills, and inspire personal and collective excellence. We achieve this through interactive projects, meaningful discussions, and student-led activities both inside and outside of school.

Academic Achievement

BSUs work closely with the district offices and community partners to increase minority representation in high school AP classes, career technical education, and transition programs at the collegiate level.
